Big Fire Hook-up
training scenario created by Martin W. McMillan
Training Hours: 1.0
Description
Tower 1 and E4 operations utilizing a "big fire hook-up."Steps
Order | Step |
---|---|
1 | Position aerial for base pump operations. |
2 | Aerial tower strips supply line off E4 and snubs wheel, allowing E4 to lay away to water source. |
3 | E4 positions itself for kink free deployment of front bumper LDH. |
4 | E4 starts supplying aerial tower with tank water and begins to hook up to hydrant. |
5 | Hook up 6" LDH to steamer connection and apply at least one additional gate valve. |
6 | With front intake drains in the open position, fully open the hydrant. |
7 | Move pneumatic valve to the open position, transferring water supply from tank water to hydrant water. You may then close intake drains. |
8 | Hook additional 4" line to gate valve and into side intake on E4. Open gate valve and ball intake valve to maximize pump capacity. |
9 | TIPS: Replenish E4 tank water early in anticipation of hydrant/water supply failure.
