NFPA 1410 Evolution 7: Reverse Lay with Portable Master Stream

Description
In this evolution you company will secure a hydrant using a reverse lay and then deploy a portable master stream appliance. This evolution will be complete where a flow of 500 GPM is flowing from the portable master stream appliance, the maximum recommended completion time for this evolution is 5 minutes.1. Stage
Start by staging away from the fire scene.
2. Engine to fire scene
The engine should proceed to the fire scene. Time starts when the engine stops at the fire scene. Fire fighters should exit the apparatus, and remove supply lines and the portable master stream device from the apparatus. Supply lines should be secured, and the engine signaled to continue to the water source.
3. Setup Master Stream
The engine should lay at least 300' of supply line as it continues to and secure the water source to pump back to the master stream device. The firefighters at the master stream device should setup the master stream device and be prepared to flow water, as soon as the engine supplies them. The evolution is complete when the master stream device is flowing water at the required rate and pressure.
