Description

Second alarm, fire bombing at a three story, five unit apartment house. Fire flashed over on the first floor as crews tried to make entry.

Rescue
Two victims trapped on the third floor and removed via ground ladders.

Exposures
Exposure damage to 71 Glendale Park. Fire started on the first floor and quickly spread up the front and side of the house due to asphalt siding. 

Lessons Learned
Aggressive search and rescue should be coupled with hose line advancement at well-involved fires.

Took 1-3/4" attack line to the first floor. Acted as the base pumper. Assisted in overhaul.

Provided first source of water to E5 using the hydrant at the corner of Tacoma & Glendale. Took second attack line into the structure and assisted with ground ladder rescue.

Provided search of second and third floors.

Second alarm fire in an occupied three story house. Fire started on the first floor and quickly spread up the front and side of the house due to asphalt siding. Fire flashed over on the first floor as crews tried to make entry for search and rescue operations, driving firefighters out of the building to regroup. Two victims rescued from the third floor window by use of ground ladders.
